Job Title: Ranch Manager

Location: Bonita, Arizona

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Ranch Manager to oversee the daily operations of a working cattle ranch in Bonita, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in livestock management, pasture and range management, equipment maintenance, and team leadership. This is a hands-on position requiring a dedicated individual passionate about ranching and agriculture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Livestock Management:
    • Oversee the health, nutrition, and breeding of the cattle herd.
    • Monitor and manage grazing rotations and pasture usage.
    • Ensure timely vaccinations, branding, and medical treatments.
  • Operational Management:
    • Plan and execute daily ranch operations, including feeding, watering, and herding cattle.
    • Maintain ranch infrastructure, including fences, water systems, and buildings.
    • Operate and maintain ranch equipment such as tractors, trucks, and ATVs.
  • Land and Resource Management:
    • Implement sustainable range management practices.
    • Monitor soil health, water resources, and forage availability.
    • Collaborate with conservation programs or agencies as needed.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Ensure all safety protocols are followed during ranch operations.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of livestock, expenses, and equipment maintenance.
    • Assist with budgeting and financial planning for the ranch.
    • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and buyers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing a working cattle ranch.
  • Strong knowledge of cattle health, nutrition, and breeding practices.
  • Familiarity with pasture management and sustainable grazing practices.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining ranch equipment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working with livestock and operating heavy machinery.
